Next Day Delivery on Orders Placed Before 4pm

Returns & Refunds

Last updated: 19 July 2026

The short version: consumers have 14 days from delivery to change their mind, faulty goods are always our responsibility, every part carries a manufacturer’s warranty of at least two years — and if a part we list for your vehicle doesn’t fit it, that’s on us. The details below summarise the full position in our Terms and Conditions (sections 4 and 7–9), which take precedence if anything here differs.

Our fitment guarantee

Every part on this site is catalogued against the specific vehicles it fits. If a part we list for your exact vehicle — or confirm in writing as fitting it — turns out not to fit that vehicle, we put it right entirely at our cost: we arrange collection, and you choose between the correct replacement and a full refund including delivery. No quibbles, no return-carriage bill.

Two sensible limits: the guarantee covers the vehicle the part was catalogued or confirmed for (ordering for one car and fitting to another is a normal change-of-mind return), and it can’t cover a part that has been modified or damaged during attempted fitting — if a part won’t line up, stop and contact us rather than forcing it, as our fitting guides advise. Unsure before ordering? Send your registration number to info@cathive.co.uk and we’ll confirm fitment in writing.

Changed your mind? (14-day returns)

  • If you are a consumer, you may cancel your order for any reason up to 14 days after the day you receive the goods, and you then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
  • Email info@cathive.co.uk with your order number before returning anything — we will confirm the correct return address and the cheapest way to send the part back. Exhaust parts are bulky, so it is worth getting this right: you bear the cost of a change-of-mind return, and we can usually arrange collection at a competitive carrier rate deducted from your refund if you prefer.
  • Return the part unused, unfitted and complete, in its packaging. You are welcome to inspect a part as you would in a shop — but a part that has been fitted or run loses most of its resale value, and we may deduct that loss of value from your refund.
  • Refunds (price plus our basic outbound delivery charge) are made within 14 days of the goods coming back, to your original payment method.
  • If you cancel before dispatch, nothing is charged at all — your card authorisation is simply released.

Faulty or damaged goods

  • Visible transit damage: tell us promptly and keep the packaging — a photo speeds everything up.
  • Faulty within 30 days of delivery: full refund, replacement or repair — your choice. After 30 days: replacement or repair first, refund if that fails.
  • Faulty-goods returns are arranged and paid for by us. Email info@cathive.co.uk with your order number, the part’s serial number and what’s wrong.
  • Be aware that emissions parts are usually killed by an underlying vehicle fault rather than by a defect — the returned part may be inspected by the manufacturer to establish the cause, and for emissions-test claims we’ll need a copy of the MOT emissions failure report. Our guides to why cats fail and why DPFs block explain what to check.

Manufacturer’s warranty

Beyond your legal rights, every part is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects — 2 years standard, 3 years on premium silicon-carbide (“P”) DPFs. Correct fitting and a fixed underlying fault are conditions of cover; the full explanation, including what is and isn’t covered and how to claim, is on our Warranty page.

Wrong part ordered?

It happens — vehicle parts are precise. Before ordering, our part finder matches parts to your exact vehicle, and we’ll gladly double-check fitment against your registration number: just ask (that also puts our fitment guarantee behind the answer). If a part you chose for a different vehicle has already arrived, the change-of-mind process above applies — all the more reason not to fit a part until you’re sure it’s the right one.
